The program is intended to provide a comprehensive approach to advanced study in computer science. It also prepares the student to hold a variety of professional and technical positions in all areas of computer science.

Computer Science students Jason Baker, Mallory Cosfol and Scott Hine beautifully hand-painted two wall murals in the Department's main wing.

November 2007

The Graduate Computer Science Program at Saint Joseph's University and Nanjing University establish a 10-year academic partnership and exchange program.

April 2007

Graduate students Jing Zhou and Baladitya Voleti presented results of their year-long research projects to the Department.

February 2007

The 2007 UPE Induction ceremony was held on February 7. Four computer science graduate students were inducted into the Lambda Chapter of UPE: Ashwini Yerabati, Preethi Ramaswamy, Baladitya Voleti and Ameya Potnis. Congratulations to our new members!

December 2006

Three Web Technologies graduate students, Jimil Patel, Jing Zhou and Preethi Ramaswamy, presented their research talks on the subjects of XML document clustering and chained Web Services.

Hawks of India -- whose mission is to share with the SJU Community the rich cultural heritage of India -- organized and celebrated the Indian festival of lights, Diwali. The event was its usual success with wonderful performances by many talented students. Kudos to all our students for sharing with us this special festival!

Dr. Stephen Cooper, Director of the Center For Visualization, has recently been the recipient of several grants. He has been awarded the S-Step Scholarship in the amount of $460,000, and, in collaboration with colleagues at Georgia Tech, Ithica College, and the Colorado School of Mines, was awarded the NSF-CCLI Grant for $500,000.

On October 12, fifty SJU undergraduate and graduate students, alumni, and faculty gathered in the President's Lounge for the 2006 Math and Computer Science Career Night.

September 2006

The research paper entitled, "A Particle Swarm Algorithm for Multiobjective Design Optimization," authored by Eric Ochlak (Computer Science '06) and his Honors Thesis advisor Dr. Babak Forouraghi, was accepted for presentation at the Eighteenth IEEE International Conference on Tools with Artificial Intelligence.

May 2006

Two Computer Science graduate students Keerthi Pusuloori and Marina Joseph received Computer Science awards for their exemplary performance.
