On the evening of Wednesday March 12, 2008 the Department hosted its Fourth Induction ceremony for the Lambda Chapter of Upsilon Pi Epsilon Computer Science Honor Society at Saint Joseph's University. The ceremony began by a talk by the Chapter President, Jason Baker, who spoke on the topic of Computer Ethics.
This year's guest speaker was an SJU alum, Glenn Brunette (B.S. '93, M.S. '99), a Distinguished Engineer at Sun Microsystems, Inc.
Glenn was also initiated as an honorary alumnus because of his outstanding contributions to the field. Glenn is currently the Director and Chief Security Architect at Sun Microsystems. This year's student inductees included: Ateeq Ahmed (graduate student) The Initiation Ceremony was followed by a dinner reception during which students, their family members, faculty and alums had a chance to visit. |
